We are committed, supportive and active in trying to live out “Christ’s Story” and we want someone who will help us to grow further and develop deeper our faith and ministry in the places we live.
Ecumenically we are a mixed bunch and all the stronger for that, ranging from a reverent sacramental worship to vibrant evangelical congregations. This results not in conflict but rather in an understanding and appreciation of the strengths of different approaches to our joint faith.
We have a growing mission in children’s work, both in our two Church of England primary schools and through family services in two of our parishes. There is also an opportunity to develop youth work across the benefice.
Pastoral care and community involvement are strong features of parish work within the benefice; we hope and pray that this can be extended and developed with a new leader.
In taking up a half-time post we want you to know that you would have support and encouragement from people across the benefice to make the ministry realistic and enjoyable.
Of course there are challenges of mission, pastoral care and finance but the parish leaders and the PCCs are active and supportive.
